W10 login prompt no longer appearing with mouse click

For some reason on one of my W10 computers if I mouse click on the screensaver nothing happens. Prior to a couple of days ago when I would click the login screen would appear. How do I get that behavior back? Now I have to CTRL-ALT-DEL.

FWIW, that happens to me every so often on my Win10 desktop.  Sometimes neither a click or a keypress gets me to the login, and I have to use the old CTL-ALT-DEL to wake it up.

It's not very often, but just so you know it can happen based on some circumstances that I have never identified.  It's very infrequent so I don't spend that much time on it, and easy to get around...

I figured on of those dreaded Windows updates caused this. They pump those out just about every day. Now wonder no one gets any work done.
Why do you think I'm still on windows 7 ;-)

haha
Yes, but as of 01/14/2020 Microsoft kisses W7 goodbye. As much as I hate Windows Updates they are a necessary evil!
Yeah I know, it doesn't bother me that much, I don't do anything on it that warrants a massive amount of security or protection :-)
You mean you do not need to protect the number of times you went fishing or played tennis? Just wait till the hackers find out about that! I hear what you are saying.
I use my machine to watch films and programmes, pretty much it to be honest. Everything else is done on my phone which is fully encrypted with a VPN.
Thanks guys. That mystery has been solved,
