Cannot connect New HP Printer to Ink Service

I want to use HP ink refill option where it connects directly with my printer over the internet, etc.

Problem is, HP thinks I have a different printer, (I had to trash that one, it quit printing color, could not solve), so they have (I guess) my email address connected to that old printer.

I can get to "Enter Printer Claim Code", it implies a page will print, it does not, so I'm stuck.

See attached.

Any ideas?

Remove the old HP printer software and drivers from the system.  (This is far more difficult than it sounds.)

If you can get the old printer out without any remnants left over, then you should be able to connect to the new printer.

The old printer was NEVER connected to this computer.

I had to replace the computer it was used with, an HP, after only about 4 months from brand new.

I’m not a big fan of HP. Used to be for printers, no more. This is the LAST HP printer I will ever buy.

As an HP stockholder, I agree with you 100%.

You might look at returning this HP and purchasing an Epson with Ecotanks / Supertanks.  For around $100 you can buy a printer with enough ink for two years, and when that runs low you just pour in some more.

It would be preferable to me to try to milk a year out of this one.

I can buy printer cartridges elsewhere, just thought this sounded easier.

It has other issues, just disappears to Windows 10 as available printer, but shows under settings, printers. I remove it, software wise, find new printer, etc. works so far. I have an almost new Canon a friend gave me free, i’ll Try that next.
