Looking for a tool with Ability to sign PDf files electronically

We have this project where we want to  sign PDF docs electronically in our custom Application. This application is already creaing PDF files. All we want is the ability to sign the doc. I know there are tools like DocuSIgn, HelloSign and perhaps many more. Can anyone recommend good tools that I can setp in a corporate environment that does let us sign electronically and relatively is not an expensive solution?

Are you looking for software or do you want to code some automation?
By sign, do you mean a digital /certificate signature or an image that is a signature?

ASKER

Scott, I think we need to embed a digital certificate. BAsically a signature that tells the company as to who created the file or/and who approved the file for its accuracy. Also PDf is being generated by our ERP solution so I am guessing there might be some customization required.

There are a handful of options to do this via code using  https://www.pdflabs.com/tools/pdftk-the-pdf-toolkit/ or  http://www.pdfsharp.net/ or  https://itextpdf.com/.   PdfSharp and iText (previous version) are on nuget.  There are also some php libraries too.  The options I mentioned are mostly free (the older version of itext).  There are going to be paid libraries do do this that will be more straight forward. Adobe will be one.   http://sejda.org/, and a lot more. I am short of time right now, I will try and check in the next 5 or 6 hours.  I have a short list from my own question where I researched  https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/29160577/Bates-Stamp-Programmatically-Add-Unique-Numbers-To-Footer-Of-A-PDF.html#a42966088

What ERP are you using? Is it customizable or do you need to do this adhoc?
