File server and the SAN

Hi,

I saw a file server (Dell Server); say it Server1
I saw Dell PowerEdge FX2s (FC830) which i believe functioning as a SAN for Server1

Problem:
I saw at Dell PowerEdge FX2s a blinking light (Possibly it is a warning lighting to inform there is something wrong?), then most of the employees can not access their files (which are in the file server= Server1)

Question:
1) How to check what is "the blinking light" tells at the Dell PowerEdge FX2?
2) How to troubleshoot this problem? (my feeling; just reboot the Server1)

Thanks,
tjie

Are any of the drive lights yellow or red? These drive lights should be  blinking to show access. The lights on the panels are clearly labeled so which light is blinking? A reboot can't hurt since the unit is not functioning. (screenshot would be nice)
you could connect with  iDRAC8 with Lifecycle Controller to remotely manage and view the units status. I have a feeling that the disk array has failed (2 or more drive failures)  (hope you have a recent backup)
If you have a maintenance contract with Dell time to get some onsite support.

FC830 is a 4 socket server to use as a virtualization platform, I doubt it would be used as a SAN unless it had some additional storage in external enclosures. Could be a virtual SAN of course but still it only has 8 2.5 inch bays unless it's full of 1.8" SSDs.

1) All drive lights are green (yes, they are blinking) (please see the picture)
2) Kasih photo, dan circle it
3) Question to David Johnson: If I am able to connect with IDRAC8, what should I check to know “the reasons of this blinking light” (Is there any button to reset it?)

Thanks

The ME4012 is your SAN, however it does not seem to be faulty from the LEDs anyway.

Can you answer my questions to David Please;
"3) Question to David Johnson: If I am able to connect with IDRAC8, what should I check to know “the reasons of this blinking light” (Is there any button to reset it?)"

The first webpage you will see is the one you want, system summary. If there were no problems you would have lots of green ticks, however you may not have in your case. A few screenshots at https://www.servethehome.com/dell-idrac-8-enterprise-overview/

all of your drives have green lights which mean they are operating normally. None are yellow (warning) or Red (failed)
Question is how is your server connecting to the SAN. iSCSI over the network? Directly attached SAS cable?
