I have a db (SOURCE) that is Oracle Enterprise Edition 12.1.0.2, and its national character set UTF8.<br />

I have an Oracle Database Appliance on which I will create an Oracle EE 12.1.0.2 DB (TARGET) to duplicate (RMAN) my source DB to, and during the creation of it I am presented with the option to choose either UTF8 or AL16UTF16 as my national character set.<br />

Do they have to match? Both UTF8 for the duplication process to work?
