Can't Install or repair Internet Explorer on Windows 2016, though it's partially present

I have a mixture of new VM's which are not consistent but are all Windows 2016. They will be configured for XenApp 7.15, however; I am not that far in the configuration just yet.

My issue is with Internet Explorer.  For ease of controlling via policies and scripts to publish apps using IE that we already have in our XenApp environment, I'd like to be consistent with the browser and therefore, I would like Internet Explorer  installed on the systems.

Currently, I do not see Internet Explorer in my list of programs on some of the Windows 2016 servers.  The executable however is found in c:\Windows\WinSxs.  However; if I try to execute, get an error stating "This app can't run on your PC".  Looking via Google, I should be able to install/re-install via the Settings, App & Features under manage Optional Features, this however only gives me language options or fonts, not sure of all the optional features if I'm missing others.

I'm not able to find a good download to install.  If I try, I'm told that there is a newer version already on the server.

Madness.  Does anyone know how I can repair this or download a version compatible with Windows 2016?

Thanks in advance.

Thank you for all your feedback.

David, yes, it is still there.  Unfortunately we don't control our images, corporate does and it seems they only provided 1/2 of what is needed here as the executable is not present in the directory but is in the c:\windows\winsxs directory.  (Attached images).  I'll kick back to corporate if I must but it will severely slow down this process if they fix it at all.  Ironically the 2016 servers I received for my Citrix environment for the non-prod environment are complete and work like a charm with IE.

Too bad Microsoft loves to bring programs to the forefront, get people to use them and then say, nah... guess I'm done with that.  More than one product has had that fate.

So If I'm forced to move to Chrome, my concern is around GPO's and Scripts to run to lock down a browser and then publish to users within Citrix.  Tried and true with IE.

Adam,

Thanks, since the option was not available in my feature list, tried this "Dism /online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:Internet-Explorer-Optional-amd64".  This seemed to work.  I am now able to see and Launch Internet Explorer

Thanks a mil.  Per your recommended suggestion, with the Enterprise Mode with Edge, these images don't seem to have Edge.  Honestly don't know what they were doing with this batch of VM's and this particular image.  However; I will note that and try on a system with Edge so I'm ready to move forward.

Thanks again.
Thanks for your help, been trying to solve on my own for a few days, not the best use of my time.  Thanks for clearing that up so I can move onto other things :)
No problem.  Chrome does have full GPO support and you should be able to lock it down to your liking.  We standardized on Chrome here.  We only use Internet Explorer for a crappy internal web app in our facilities department (uses HTTP on a HTTPS site which is now a no-no in Chrome), but those users also have the option of using Chrome for everything else.
