Accidentally created google account takes over previous account
I have a user who accidentally created a gmail account that took over a previous gmail account and now they can't change it back. When she tried to delete the new account it says "The address used to identify your Google Account to you and others. You can't change this address". I don't know how she was able to change it first place since now says you can't delete/change the main address. The old address shows as 'alternate emails'.
Is there a way to get rid of the new email address but still keep all the google docs under it?
What a mess!
Thank you for your help!

What do you mean by, " created a gmail account that took over a previous gmail account"
Is it a simple case of using multiple gmail accounts on one browser? Or something else?
Can this person log in to the different accounts individually?
was this done on their phone or desktop?

I know it's difficult to explain the issue. Here is a snapshot of how the account looks now. Before, the .org email was the main account. Now the gmail email address took over and the .org email is the 'recovery email'. She tried to switch it back but google doesn't allow this. She could just delete the new gmail account but she's worried she would lose all documents stored in google docs.
PS. It was done on desktop
Thanks!
