How do you convert Outlook to Office 365?

What is needed to take an existing Outlook account and convert it to Office 365?

A friend has an Outlook account with an existing company but she cannot get the Calendar on her phone so she wants to convert.

I am trying to find out how to do that.   Is it difficult?

I think you need to clarify the intent here, as the terminology used is very ambiguous.
What do you mean by "Outlook account"?  What do you mean by "convert" (maybe you mean migrate)?

Outlook the program is capable of connecting to many accounts on different providers using different protocols.  Where an email account is hosted has nothing to do with Outlook itself.  If this is a company account, it'd be pretty certain there would be restrictions on trying to move a single account onto a different platform/provider.

Right now it sounds like the email provider for your friend is the company she works for.  She probably could get her calendar on her phone if things were configured correctly.  Her IT dept. should be able to provide those details.  If the company has an on-premise Exchange server, then ActiveSync would be the preferred protocol. IMAP4 should also be capable of getting a calendar.  POP3 won't.

If the account is something else, details need to be provided.

For something like a personal account on comcast.net or hotmail.com, the simplest procedure would probably be to export everything you want to a .PST file, create an account on Office 365, connect to it with Outlook, then import the .PST into the account (which will then sync it up to the Office 365 platform).

We use Office 365 at the company I work for and looking at my account,  I do not see any "Open and Export"

The account they have is Pop3.  Their email is stored on the server of their email provider using Office 2016 Pro.   They want to stop using the provider and start using Office 365.

At my company, we use Office 365 but I did not do the switch from Exchange to Office 365.

I hope this clarifies.
Exporting is a function of Outlook (the desktop application) not Outlook Web App.

Ken's link includes another link on migration options depending on the source system.
I read the link that he said but on my Outlook office 365 I do not see any way to import
I think you need to take another look at the link - it describes the steps to both import and export using the desktop application (with screenshots!).  Note that exporting and importing with Outlook is really only feasible for an individual account (or maybe just a few) - it's not meant for migrating a large number of accounts.
I apologize.   Brain fart.    The link is what I needed.
Thanks
