vmware vm network adapter

Hello,

I have a Windows 2012 VM.  The network connection seems to be a little flaky.  I want to remove the virtual nic from vcenter and readd it.

Windows OS should be able to detect the controller back, right?

Thanks.

If the VM is a domain controller, it should be okay, right?

what makes you think that by removing and re-adding the NIC will fix you issue ?

Our server monitoring software indicates that the domain controller VM bounces a few times.  The event log shows the server did not restart.  We use continues ping and we have observed that the VM IP is dropping packet.
are you using VMXNET3 ?

removal of network interface will drop AD functions, as there will be no network until you add it back and re-ip

could that be that the DC is being over worked ?

Have you got the latest VMWARE Tools installed also.

Is that the only server dropping packets ?
