there is not enough information to see where the problem is.

linux vm maybe blocking via firewall or network is not properly configured

you can do ufw stop

not clear if they are all in same virtual switch

does linux vm can ping the gateway or any other vm?

In virtualbox you can have different lans... You have a private one, a natted one, and you can have the vm's connect out to the main lan... Which one did you put the VM's in?

Confirm, ip and netmask on the two.
A typo in the netmask could have this effect.

On the one you can not ping, the info is cut off and on,y displays the localhost, .......
