Reset password for Administrator@Vsphere.local

Reset  password for Administrator@Vsphere.local

I have looked at this link below:
https://www.provirtualzone.com/vcenter-5-x6-x-how-to-reset-administratorvsphere-local-account-password/

it talks about resetting the Administrator password, however the tool that they are talking about does not exist in Vcenter 6.7
I know that  the account Administrator@Vsphere.local gets created when we first time install Vcenter. but what if we forgot the password or we just need to reset it. I do not think this account is in Active Directory nor in the Local Windows server.

Any idea ?

Thank you

It's not in AD,

You have 4 ways to reset it there, realistically though you can always make notes of the finer details and then rebuild the host.

It is not ESX Host Root password.
It is the Administraor@vsphere.local

VSphere.local is normally your ESXi box or are you talking about your V-Center?

VCSA 6.7 guide there.

Is this VCSA or vCenter Server for Windows ?

My Advice, record the Administrator@vsphere.local password at creation, and create a strong password and store it in a brown envelope, this is your Super User password, then create other Accounts to Manage vCenter Server.

As for password reset ? (which have you got, if Windoze, don't use it anymore it's end of life!)

For vcenter admin password, I found easiest was just to create a new VCSA appliance.

^^ definitely works, seems excessive though, also won't you lose the group and user configurations when you do that for Active Directory? Or are you backing up the VCSA configuration and then rebuilding?

ALL vSphere implementations should now be on VCSA 6.7 U3!

definitely works, seems excessive though

While it can be excessive, I just had to do the whole clean slate thing a couple of times in a small environment with no customization. Took less time than trying to find the password and just lesson learned about always recording the admin password.

I have not forgotten the password...but if I need to reset the password for administrator@vspher.local, where should I do it?
I have Vsphere Web Client 6.7, I do not think it is well designed..
