Also, what version of Windows is on the computer you are working? &nbsp;In Windows 10 (and some other recent versions) there are some tools that are built right in to Windows that *may* help you do *some* of the tasks that SnipIt can do. &nbsp;It may take a little more effort or getting used to, but it's another option. &nbsp;Take a look at these references:<br />

As Bill commented, describe the exact Snagit features you're using + likely there are many non-admin rights alternatives.

i use a combination of Print Screen (<b>PrtScrn</b> key) and any image editor to accomplish what i want<br />

<p>As I said, my solutions do 2 of your 3 requirements with ease (it's why they're specialized in screenshots, other suggested bitmap editors, but they will NEVER be that easy) . The effect however, is probably unique enough that no other package has it (unless it's fully fledge Adobe Photoshop like software, probably even needing an external filter).</p>

I'm working at a company that does NOT allow unapproved software to be loaded on the pc. So, I can't get SnagIt because it can't be approved and it takes MONTHS to get this approved.

SNAGIT is not yet approved at my company but I need to Work TODAY!  Is there a competing product that I don't need admin permissions to load?

Technical Writing

Microsoft Word is a commercial document editing program that is part of the Microsoft Office suite. It features numerous text-editing tools for creating richly formatted documents, along with tools for the use of macros in Word documents. Word's native file formats are denoted either by a .doc or .docx file extension. Plugins permitting the Windows versions of Word to read and write formats it does not natively support, such as the OpenDocument format (ODF) are available. Word can import and display images in common bitmap formats such as JPG and GIF. It can also be used to create and display simple line-art.
