Reconnect a disabled mailbox
I disabled a mailbox in Exchange 2010. I am trying to reconnect it but I cannot find the mailbox to reconnect. The disabled mailbox had no mail in it because it was new. I can't login to my EAC console because it doesn't seem to like my login credentials. I tried running the clean command to update the databases to show the disabled mailbox in the EMC under disconnected mailboxes but nothing seems to work. I had to make a change to the AD User account so I figured I would disable the mailbox till I made the change.
Unless you changed a setting in Exchange, by default that disabled mailbox will be purged after 30 days. I wouldn't even worry about it, especially since it was empty and you have no email to restore.
My question for you is what kind of change in AD made you want to disable the mailbox?

I was moving the user between OUs and making some edits to the profile. I still want to use the mailbox because it has a specific purpose. Does recreating the same mailbox cause a problem

If you recreate autocomplete from internal users will bounced.
Otherwise you have to convert the the value and add as X500 address in mailbox.
