services.sh restart

this is a script which restarts ALL the ESXi host services, which includes hostd and vpxa.

/etc/init.d/hostd restart

restarts vmware-hostd service - this is an app which runs in the service console responsible for most of the functions in ESXi.

/etc/init.d/vpxa restart

restarts the vCenter Server Agent Service - vmware-vpxa service - this communicates with vCenter Server, and communicates with hostd service/app.

- So which of the commands above will  restart the Management Agent of ESX ?

- I believe if Management Agent of ESX is restarted , it will not impact any running VMs, it will just disconnect ESX from vCenter or the other way around.......
 Correct ?
