If I paste into word it gives me a question mark in a box. If I look at the record in SQL or Notepad, it just shows as a space.

Strange character breaks XML

Extensible Markup Language (XML) refers to the encoding of documents such that they can be read by both machines and humans. XML documents use tags to show the beginning and end of a set of data. XML is used extensively on websites to show volumes of data, and is the default for a number of office productivity suites. Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) enables building user-defined functions (UDFs), automating processes and accessing Windows API and other low-level functionality through dynamic-link libraries (DLLs). VBA is closely related to Visual Basic and uses the Visual Basic Runtime Library, but it can normally only run code within a host application rather than as a standalone program. Microsoft Word is a commercial document editing program that is part of the Microsoft Office suite. It features numerous text-editing tools for creating richly formatted documents, along with tools for the use of macros in Word documents. Word's native file formats are denoted either by a .doc or .docx file extension. Plugins permitting the Windows versions of Word to read and write formats it does not natively support, such as the OpenDocument format (ODF) are available. Word can import and display images in common bitmap formats such as JPG and GIF. It can also be used to create and display simple line-art.
