Loopback Processing GPO

Loopback Processing GPO

I have user account Wuser inside an OU WallOU.
When use Wuser logs on to any computer in the domain, he gets a specific Wallpaper, for instance  Space.jpg
There are few computers in separate OU  named TrainingOU , I would like when user Wuser logs to any computer located in TrainingOU will get the default wallpaper instead of Space, jpg

I believe Loopback processing GPO can achieve that...I need some guidance on how to set it up for my scenario.

Any help will be very much appreciated

Thank you

Create a new GPO "Enable GPO Loopback Processing" (use this GPO only for this policy, so that it's self-explaining that LB processing applies to this OU).
Enable Loopback processing either in Merge or Replace mode.
In Merge mode, the user policies applied to the WUser AD object will be processed first, the user(!) settings applied to the computer(!) object WUser is logging on to will be applied afterwards, overriding the default ones. In this mode, you will need to create a an additional(!) again: do [n]not[/b] use the Loopback GPO for that!) GPO linked to the computer OU, where the wallpaper is explicitly set to whatever else you want it to be for these machines,
In Replace mode, GPOs applied to the WUser AD object will be discarded, only user(!) policies linked to the computer object will be applied.

Important: if you're working with security filtering for the "looped back" user GPOs to exclude some users from certain GPOs linked to the computer OU, make sure you add Domain Computers as well, otherwise.

Did you run a "gpupdate.exe /target:computer /force" on the domain controller in question before logging on with that user?
