Exchange maintenance mode
Am I correct in understanding that when installing Exchange cumulative updates one has to place the server in maintenance mode? If so, how do I place an Exchange 2016 server into maintenance mode?

If you actually look at the Services list while the CU is installing, you'll see that all of the Exchange services are in a Disabled state while the update is installing. I always go back and double-check after CU installation to make sure they've all been restarted, but I've never found any services that didn't start up again after the CU was finished.

Thanks so much for the info. These will help me a lot and perhaps lower my heart rate a bit during CU install.
