Nest House WiFi Cameras
Hi,
I've just set up 2 Google Nest Outdoor cameras and have a few questions, as I can't find the answer online:
01 - does the camera record to a local disk at all... if your internet went down for 10 mins and an event happened, does that mean it wouldn't have recorded it? I would have thought it would have had a very small local recording which then syncs to online services?
02 - Is it possible to activate / turn on the large circle light that shows when you startup? It seems a waste of a large light on the device if you cannot turn it on / off

Hi David, thanks for your reply.
I've referring the large circle light that is on when you startup the camera for the first time. It seems bizarre that there is such a significant light on a product that is only used for 0.0000000000001% of it's lifetime.
It would be great if this could be turned on as a red glow.

the only persistent LED is the status led. To be honest I'd not use either the Nest or the Echo products for home security. The nest cameras are better than the Amazon equivalents.

ah, i’m referring to the outdoor one... and i can see it now only shows when you speak

Definitely a NO as you have no control, even for the green LED status light which has to be turned on all times.
