Exchange 2010 – unable to resolve names in GAL using alias

I’m unable to resolve a mailbox in Exchange using the alias or name. If I type in the full email address it resolves (a line appears underneath)

Server – Exchange 2010
All services on the server has started (the ones set to automatic).
The mailboxes are not set as hidden within Exchange.
Users are in the domain users group

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Do you mean when you try from Outlook?

Yes that's correct, from Outlook. Typing the full SMTP resolves but using part of the name or alias, or partially typing in the address does not resolve (in Outlook).

Its not a client issue several machines have this. And the settings in outlook are checked correctly.

Mas, it finds the email address when setting up Outlook.

What do you propose?

Thanks
