Remove domain - Windows 2016 RDWeb

I have a Windows 2016 RDS farm.  In Windows 2012r2 RDS, there was documentation on how to remove the domain name requirement.

So far I have not been able to find in any of the blogs such as RDS Gurus or nedimmehic.org or even on MS forums.

Does anyone know how to remove this in Server 2016?

f fully qualified domain name has been a requirement for a long time. Any hack to remove the requirment was simply a hack.

@David, Thanks for your insight.  Not sure if you've ever read their articles or use the technology.  This is not removing the use of the domain name.  It is simply removing it from being displayed and you hide it in the HTML code of the page.  The domain name is still being entered.

I'm sure you've encountered users that confuse back and forward slashes ;)

@ArneLovius Thanks for that.  I have used that as well but it also does not allow this customization

In the end, I think it's not possible however I installed the HTML5 RDWeb client earlier today and it seems like thre is no longer the need for the domain name.
