Download Microsoft Office Professional 2007?

Hi Experts,

I need to reinstall my Microsoft Office Professional 2007.  I've been using it for years, I have a key, but where can I download it from?

I know 2007 is no longer supported, but it does all I need and I don't want to pay for a newer version.

I've seen a few old questions about this on EE, but I don't see any useful links anymore.  One answer had links to a site which had links to eBay where people sell disks with the software on it, but I'd rather not pay or wait for delivery.  I also found it here at download.cnet.com, but I don't see any link for downloading it.

I don't want a cracked version, and I don't want any risky sites - just a legit trial(?) version which I can activate with the key I already have.

Thanks.

You don't have your media?
And you are right, since it is EOL MS no longer offers any download links unless of course you have an MSDN account that includes it.  So your only choice is having the media, knowing someone that can lend you the media, purchasing a new copy of the media.

Correct.  The software came installed on the PC.
I'd contact the vendor.  Perhaps they can supply a download or media.  I've done this successfully for some of my clients in the past.

From memory I asked that very question years ago, and they didn't have such old versions.
I'm hoping that some site like download.cnet.com has a copy for download.

Microsoft disapproves very strongly of anyone making their software available for download, whether current or obsolete. The only exception I can think of is DOS.

The only place you are likely to find a legal, untampered, genuine Microsoft copy is on the fleabay.  At less than $20 for the CD and a key, it is a bargain and costs less than the time you have already spent trying to find a downloadable image.

That may end up being what I do, but did you read everything I wrote in my original post, particularly this part:
"One answer had links to a site which had links to eBay where people sell disks with the software on it, but I'd rather not pay or wait for delivery."
I live in NZ and it takes a while to send things there.

If it came with the PC, provided you still have the recovery partition, if that is the issue that you reinstalled it should be there.
Potentially the install is part of the utilities, applications for the vendor....app tool.

i suggest to look with your relatives and friends ( on facebook?) if someone has a cd -  then you can make a copy

Hi all,
Sorry for the long delay in responding.
Thanks for all your answers, which I have now awarded points to.

My solution will probably be a free charity license, since much of my work is for a charity, which is in the process of applying for Microsoft's 10 free Office 365 licenses for non-profit organisations, but it's good to know the options you've provided for my future reference.

arnold, can you please elaborate on how someone would go about restoring the software from where you suggested?

If Windows came with the office Instalked without the need to purchase, restoring the image shoukd give you a functional OS with office.
To make changes to office by adding feature, the Installl is present ..

You could then virtualize and use this as VM on hyper-v of win 10

Thanks arnold.
Having a separate OS accessible as a VM on Win10 doesn't sound practical for me, but I'm was referring to this statement in your original post:
"Potentially the install is part of the utilities, applications for the vendor....app tool."
Are you saying I might see a path including a directory called "utilities" or "applications" in my HP_RECOERY drive?  I can post DIR/S output here if required.
And what's your "app tool" comment about?

Often, OEMs Provide a mechanism through which the system can be restored to factory default. As well as restore media, Or a way to create restoe media while the system is operating.

One f those were either application, utilities, etc.

The VM runs within not instead. Identifying the application installer, cache may provide for a way with a tool that can provide you info for the product key of the office 2007.
The installer has to exist on the recovery partition there should be a change reference once restored.

One of what were either, application, utilities, etc?

BTW, I already have the key, as mentioned at the bottom of my original post.

The location where the applications can be installed from if uninstalled.

I don't really get that, but OK, back to this question:
'And what's your "app tool" comment about?'

some OEMs instead of providing a recovery media, include a "create your recovery media" tool TO CD/DVD USB, etc.

as example, Dell installs a recovery software on the PC's.
but if the drive is wrecked - you can download an image of the factory installed system, or buy recovery media
this is more or less true- with variations - for all manufacturers

OK, thanks Nobus.
This HP has an HP_RECOVERY partition which contains about 7.5GB.
Here is the output of a "DIR/S" from the root of that drive: files.txt
Can you tell if it contains Office 2007?  If it doesn't, then it could be that Office was installed after the recovery image was created.

This is probably going to be a bit academic for me at this stage, but interesting for me to know, and possibly for others who may find this thread.

from that list you can'tt tell, the info is in the .wom files
i can tell you this : if it is a user OEM pc, there is never office installed; at best a trial version

The option to install even for test is what the asker is looking for; an office 2007 installerI. The situation s the person has a license, but no install media.

then he has to try the recovery, and hope there is a trial version in it, so he can input his license
