asked on
Windows Data Center and virtual machines.
Windows Server Standard versus Windows Data Center edition.
I was reading the differences:
<https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/get-started-19/editions-comparison-19>
Can be used as virtualization guest Yes; 2 virtual machines, plus one Hyper-V host per license Yes; unlimited virtual machines, plus one Hyper-V host per license
Why would someone order the datacenter edition when setting up a machine with windows?
I'm thinking perhaps they want to become a service provider, and host servers? Maybe game servers?
How would this function with ONE database? Would that have anything to do with load balancing a database? I don't think so. But thought I would ask.
