Precision webcam michrophone not working
I have a Dell Precision 7510 laptop running Windows 10 and the microphone on the built in web camera is not working. The camera works, I can see video.
When the user tries to join an online meeting they gets a message that says "microphone not detected".
I updated BIOS, chipset, audio drivers, etc.
Any ideas?
Any way to trouble shoot this and test microphone?
Thanks,
cja

None of this fixed the issue. We bought a headset to use as a workaround.

a) Check for a mike disable/enable switch on the camera.
b) Bring up Device Manager and see if the microphone is presenting to the system. It should not show as part of the camera; it should show as a separate sound device.
c) If the microphone is presenting to the system, be sure that either 1) it has been set as the default sound device before starting the program that will use it, or 2) the program wanting to use the mike has specifically set that mike as its input device rather than the default sound input device.
In the image above it can be seen that the system wants to use the video card HD digital output, but the one I need to use is the Realtek. Further it can be seen that the system has been told to use only default devices, which can also cause obscure errors. There are also three audio input devices, but it is presently set correctly to the mike on the USB headphones.
