SCCM PXE Lab on Vmworkstation 10

SCCM PXE Lab on Vmworkstation 10

I would like to have assistance from SCCM / Vmware Experts on how  to Set up a LAB for SCCM with PXE boot option in order to deploy Windows 10 OS to a  new Virtual Machine that does not have OS installed on it yet.
The Existing Virtual network is a shown below.  For now all my VMs are on the network 192.168.243.0/24

Thank you

I would use BRIDGED networking rather than NAT.

Also you need a DHCP server which supports PXE/TFTP, the DHCP server within VMware Workstation is rather basic, and does not have these features.

So I would build a VM with Microsoft Server using DHCP.

and then use BRIDGED networking, or you could use NAT, if all the VMs are on the NAT interface, but turn off DHCP on NAT.

I have VM configured as Windows DHCP server
The existing VMs in the the Network have all their Network adapters configured as NAT , they are in the network 192.168.243.0/24
Not sure whether  I can create separate Network which could be complex... or just use  a couple of IP addresses from the existing subnet 192.168.243.0, seeing that the LAB will be for a couple of VMs only..
Your choice whether you do bridged or NAT.

But if you do NAT, the VM must be on the NAT network, and DHCP functions on VMware Workstation turned off, and allocate all IP Addresses from your DHCP server, otherwise you'll have competing DHCP servers on the NAT LAN.

You may also want to break up this question into different sections because it's a HUGE MASSIVE PROJECT, which cannot be answered in a single question.

and as it's not really specific to VMware, I would post in SCCM, and Windows Server 2016, 2019 of whatever server you have so more Experts can partcipate.

So Untick that Option Use Local DHCP in VMware Workstation, and then you will need to generate your BOOT images using WDS/MDT.

and that will need a different questions, so lets just see if you can get a VM communicating with a WDS server.

boot\x64\pxeboot.com  ?
in other links they suggest: SMSBoot\x64\wdsnbp.com
Ignore all that you are far from that at present.

Confirm a VM communicates with the DHCP server, and then a new question.

and if all you want to do is Push a Windows 10 OS to a VM (a template is quicker), if you really want to go down this path use MDT/WDS - quicker.... and really want to use SCCM..... well.....

This is a LAB in a Virtual environment as I do not have physical hardware to do the LAB.

I know you can create templates in Virtual environment and create many VMs instances.. in Physical Environment you will have to use something like SCCM ..this is why I added SCCM to Vmware topic

why MDT is better than SCCM ?
SCCM is a great product but it is exceedingly complex to set it up and keep it running. It is designed for the large enterprise (>10,000 seats) It also takes a long time once you make a change for it to get to the DP

Use MDT to get things working and then move it over to SCCM .. I can run 20 tests and smooth things out in the time to do 1 test in SCCM for deployment scenarios anyways.
Hint: integrate MDT with SCCM it will save you a lot of work.

I have installed and integrated MDT to SCCM.  Created new Task Sequence for OS deployment:

PXE: 00:0C:29:C7:1D:2F: No valid Task Sequence deployments.	SCCMPXE	3/26/2020 1:27:49 PM	7388 (0x1CDC)

Have you tried BOOTing a VM, and does it BOOT from PXE ?

It is OK...I have another question that overlaps with this one

Thank you
So the VM is BOOTING, but not finding the boot loader. (WinPE).
