Marc 17th patch
We have Windows 2016 servers. We normally install the patches manually. That is, let the servers to download it and we install it.
There are two CUs this month, normally the CUs rollup with next month.
The servers downloaded the first Tuesday's CU already(KB4540670). If we install this KB then the server requires a reboot to complete.
We can download the March 17th standalone and install it or force the server to check the update.
Will the standalone replace the previous Tuesday's update if we install the latest?
Server admin out there, How did you patch your servers?

I do not know whether you patched Windows2016 this month, there are two patches this month. It took me more than 1 hour to complete to patch as you suggest.
Windows 2016 is notoriously slow to install patches. 2012 R2 and 2019 do not have the problem.
If you configure Windows Updates to install automatically, then you don't need to babysit the servers as they patch.

I patch my servers automatically for the most part.
For manually patching, apply all updates offered. Reboot, and look for more patches. Repeat until there are no more updates.
