HP Envy Display Issue

Running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit on an HP Envy 17-K250CA Notebook.  Upon restarting, today, the display is not working (image attached).  Restarting did not help.  Please advise.

From my experience, it seems like a bad LCD cable.

Thank you.  I connected an external monitor, rebooted, and now both the integrated display and the external monitor are working.  Before posting this question, I restarted the laptop three times, with the result shown in the attached image.  What do you suggest?
I never saw a good image in those instances.
Can you move with the LCD panel and put it into different positions? If there is a bad cable, you will see it.

It continued working in every LCD panel position.
Interesting. Can you disconnect the external monitor and try it again?

It still works, after disconnecting the external monitor, including when restarted.
It seems fine now, however, I would definitely monitor this laptop for the LCD issue. If there is any, it will reappear.
When you restarted, did you power off? If you didn't what was causing the error may have been kept "alive" by the capacitors in the circuit around the ic.
