Speed up file Win7 to USB transfer
Is there a way to speed up the file transfer from Windows7 to USB 2.0 drive? A 3 GB file is taking 3 hours to transfer?
make sure you are using the "Enhanced host USB"(or something like that in DEVICEMANAGER, usually only one port is the enhanced one and probably you are already using it for something else, switch usb ports with your mouse or keyboard see if one of them gets faster speeds, you might have seen some message where it says "this device can perform faster but blah blah blah", this happens when you are not using the enhanced port.

If the enhanced port is labeled "SS", then I am transferring to the SS USB drive. The transfer rate is 4mb/sec which is very slow.

All great points Nobus.
I don't believe the video file should take that long to transfer on USB 2.0
