Need help repairing/restoring mailbox database
This is regarding exchange 2016 standard cu13 on a Server 2016 standard VM. We lost power and I shutdown the exchange server manually. Next morning I turned it on and one of 4 mailbox DBs corrupted and failed to mount. I called MS Support and an exchange tech tried to repair the original DB but gave up after a failed hard repair. We switched to the veeam incremental backup from a few hours before the power went down but it was in dirty shutdown and he could not get it to go either. He was going to research and discuss with tech lead and then get back to me later that night which did not happen. I assume it's fallout from the covid lock down in his country. I have veeam backup and replication 9.5.4 and run full backups on Saturday and incrementals between. I do not have weekend veeam support so am wondering if anyone has experience restoring a corrupt DB from backup. I have tried copying the backed up DB folder to another drive on the exchange server and using eseutil to prepare it for moving to the folder holding the corrupt db. I've tried directly restoring to the DB folder and overwriting the corrupt. I've tried with several incremental and full backups. In each case the restored edb file is in dirty shutdown and will not soft or hard repair. The 'eseutil /mh' result will show missing logs but in almost every case the logs are there and /ml runs successfully. However, a soft repair fails with a '-501 log file corrupt' error. I assume I'm doing something wrong. Does anyone have a tried and true veeam backup procedure for restoring a database?

I can give you ftp server to upload it but it is too big. I do not know how much time it will take to be uploaded.
I can send you credentials with pm. is it OK?

Yes, however I no longer have the original corrupt DB. I thought it beyond repair and needed room to for backups. Would a backed up copy be of use to you?
It would be better the initial corrupted file but it is OK. Send a full backup. I sent you email.

Mas helped me fix this issue. The instruction are actually what he himself did for me. This was great and I'm back up.
What is the size of the initial corrupted edb file? Maybe I could help but can you make available the corrupted edb file?
