O365 alternative to file server

Which of the office365 offerings would most closely resemble a cloud/SaaS based equivalent to a standard file server? And out of interest do you have the same sorts of control as you would over a standard file server e.g. shares/directory permissions, or can they amended by the end users themselves in the new alternative?

Ok thanks, I did wonder where Teams fitted into things with SharePoint and OneDrive. I presume there are clear objectives/usages of each making them each different.

>The emphasis being on documents. While you can certainly dump other files there, they dont really excel as a file server replacement.
