Rename Administrator Account Folder in Windows 10

Hi Experts,

I recently reinstalled Windows 10 Pro on my computer.

I don't how it happened, but my User Account (I have Administrator permissions) folder has the wrong user name.

How can I change it?

Regards,
Leigh

Rename the folder. The folders are tied to the GUID of the account that logs in, not the user name.

Thanks, Adam.

The Rename icon on the File Explorer ribbon is greyed out.

You're probably going to have to log in as a different admin user to do it.

Thanks, Adam & David.

I actually renamed the folder by booting a USB rescue stick.

All hell broke loose when I first rebooted, but on 2nd boot was OK.

Leigh
