Crystal report .pdf expert large file sizes

Good day, I use Crystal report 2016 with the latest builds and fixes and run into large file sizes when exporting the report to .pdf. The mentioned report inserts .jpg images for example no larger than 300kb but when I export the file size jumps to 900kb in size (3 times more). I already found a topic with SAP advising to add a registry setting relating to custom encoding:

This did not make much difference and causes the export to error out 'not enough memory' when running if it does work (when I select fewer transactions) the file size can get up 54,000kb

Any thoughts?

Does the report forces a resize of the image or does it use the original image size?

A resize can cause size to increase very significantly.

There are ways to avoid the resize...

Hi Ido, no forcing but after I select export .pdf it runs and the file size is 3 times larger than the .jpg images that I insert.

I also noticed that if print to .PDF using Microsft print to PDF the same file size shrinks to 1,060KB and if I print to .PDF using CutePDF I get it actually to 761KB. It seems that this is just how Crystal converts the .jpg image to .bmp and then exports to .pdf

Any additional thoughts or ideas would be appreciated, otherwise it seems that there is no solution here?

Thank you Ido, that was pretty amazing, shrinkage from 47,601kb to 1,751kb
