Xenapp 7.6 VDA installation on Server 2016

The server you are trying to install it onto does not have the RDSH role installed.

From this MS article - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2833839/guidelines-for-installing-the-remote-desktop-session-host-role-service :

On the workgroup computer or DC, install the Remote Desktop Licensing role service and the Remote Desktop Session Host role service. To do this, follow these steps:       

1. Open Server Manager.  
2. Click Manage and select Add Roles and Features.   
3. Select Role-based or Feature-based installation.   
4. Select the computer as the destination server.    
5. On the Select server roles page, select Remote Desktop Services.    
6. On the Select role services page, select the Remote Desktop Session Host role services. 
7. Continue the installation. Select default values for the remaining settings.  

Note step 6 in the original article also has you adding the Remote Desktop Licensing service, but in your lab I would install that on say the DC or your Citrix management server.

I have :
CTXMNG (server 2016)= Citrix Xenapp installed+RDP licens server role instaled.
App01 (server 2016) = try to install VDA and want to like Master image for CTXMNG Machine Catalog configuration

make a mistake somewhere?

From the error message you haven't yet installed the RDSH onto App01.

i do not have a licences ,i plan use only for my LAB .

do need to install RDSH both servers ?
do u have a nother guide ,citrix guides very difficult for me to understand?

Ok so you will be fine for 120 days without an RDSH license. After 120 days you won't be able to log on.

For your gold/master image you have to remember that it is going to become a Citrix server so any role or pre-requisite that Citrix needs, has to go onto that server - in this case, RDSH is required.

i try to install but the same error comes out.

Did you follow these steps on the server you are trying to install the VDA onto?

Note steps 5 and 6 - currently, according to the error message you do not have the Remote Desktop Session Host (RDSH) role installed.

Also if you are never going to assign Remote Desktop CALS and run it in the grace period then I wouldn't worry about adding the RD license server role

before i did not install Remote Desktop Session Host role services now i installed both CTXMNG and APP01

but the same error comes again ,i cant belive it

may be fails some updates i do not know

run it in the grace period : unfortunattly i d o not know how

i have DAYSLEFT =120 grsce period default

Good catch, Carl - I hadn't even paid attention to it being 7.6!

if you use the correct XenApp version for your server OS, Citrix installs the RDSH role by itself.
