SQL server agent stop working

Hi,

I have cluster SQL (2008) running under windows server 2008. The SQL server agent stop working. I got an error 1069 which is related to failure in login (I did not change the password for SQL or windows). I tried to reconfirm SQL password in SQL server manager but I got an error "The server threw an exception [0x80010105]". The SQL server service is working. However, the SQL server agent not working. The VIA protocol is disable.

I tried to start SQL agent but I got an error.

when you have a failover in a cluster the agent does not follow it stays with the failed half see: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/ssms/agent/sql-server-agent

check the failover state of your cluster

Thank you for your reply. You mean if the second point in the cluster is down then the SQL server agent will stop working? Now when I am trying to login to Management Studio I can not do that. I got an error. Is that because SQL server agent is down?

not necessarily I mean if your cluster failed over please ask your DBA.

Hi thanks, I moved SQL services to the second node and its still same. Both nods are working fine as you can see
