Are you running this from a server or from a stand alone remote workstation?

The RDP host is a server, the client is a workstation.

You have to pass the company file you want to open, or try using the company file instead of the program and see whether the file association will trigger the opening of the app.

arnold's idea sounds like it should work. Find the directory where your QuickBooks company files live and (without QuickBooks already running) just double-click on the file and see if QB opens up how you want it. If that works, then in Remote Desktop specify the path and name of the Company file, Not the QuickBooks executable.
