I recently purchased a Dell Precision laptop and have it connected to two external monitors. &nbsp;I've noticed myself it get's quiet warm at times. &nbsp;I Googled around and found this article <a href="https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/best-laptop-coolers" rel="ugc">https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/best-laptop-coolers</a>&nbsp;from 2017 that had some decent information in it. &nbsp;So it seems some cooling pads do actually work and help reduce both external and internal temps. &nbsp;Here's a 'best-of' article from January 2020 <a href="https://www.techradar.com/news/best-laptop-cooling-pad" rel="ugc">https://www.techradar.com/news/best-laptop-cooling-pad</a>. &nbsp;I haven't purchased one yet so don't have a specific recommendation for you but will most likely purchase the Kootek 5 as listed in the 2017 laptopmag article. &nbsp;It's $23 on Amazon.

Possibly place it on a couple of 4x2 blocks at each end so that it is raised off the table and has a decent air gap underneath it. &nbsp;See if that helps reduce the temperature. &nbsp;If that works you could place it there when not in use.

I'd usually just wiped the vents off on the bottom, but was shocked to see what was inside, as shown in pics.<br />
Wanted to make sure I had t5hermal grease on hand before I took the fan assembly off &amp;&nbsp;blew air through the pieces that connec the two fans.<br />

If you blow out the fan (both directions) regularly, you'll avoid this sort of problem. &nbsp;If you don't, eventually the dust will collect into &quot;dust bunnies&quot; that you can't remove without disassembly as they will be too big to fit through the narrow passages. &nbsp;The level of difficulty of such disassembly varies widely among laptops.

From the looks of those when I removed the cover, its hard to tell which one is which!

Laptop ventilation typically uses two of three possible locations for intake and exhaust: side (near the back), back (near the side) and underneath (near a back corner). &nbsp;I don't know (haven't tried to figure it out) if there is a typical pattern of which is intake and which is exhaust.<br />

If you do determine which is which on your laptop, I'd first try to blow in the exhaust. &nbsp;I'd think you have a better shot at expelling the dust that way.

Occasionally, the fan will be running higher/louder than normal &amp;&nbsp;I was looking for something to help with this.<br />
Not looking for anything goofy, with fans that light up, etc., just something to help it run a little cooler that is relatively quiet.<br />
