How to share Rs 232 serial port over the network in Ms Access
Question 1
(1) My question is on RS 232 serial port networking in Ms Access FE, is it possible to share the rs 232 gadget over the local area new or wide area network , I'm asking this question because it appears like this gadget is hooked to the user computer which suggests that if you have 4 users then you need 4 gadget which I think its not economical. Is there anyone who has managed to either share the gadget through the server computer and then all workstations goes through the server to access that port, let say ports 1-4
Question 2
(2) is it possible to increase the number of COM Ports on the VBA below which is currently at 4 to something like 20, the trouble is that some computers have COM Ports, 15, 18 &Â 20 etc which means that you have to travel around to change all the workstations device manager com serial port to either 2 or 4 as per VBA below . If the range can be increased then it will help carter for those with COM port between 1 to 200 it should be able to pick automatically.

I have notice that the code below has a limitation in terms of pulling data such that if the data has more than 2 products only 2 will come out NOT all , Is it possible to remove this limitation in order to sort out this issue. However, the code works very well for only 2 products , anything more than that it CUTS.
I tried to remove the 100,000 the code gave an error as augment NOT Optional , which mean that its mandatory it has to be there , even if you increase it to say 115200 , it seam like  the 100000 is the maximum unless I'm missing something. These new gadget pull data at one go not in bits.
