Hi,<br><br>If you have one group will ALL DPs in, and you need to push out something big (e.g. AutoCAD) which is 5GB, you would end up distributing 5GB to all DPs including those on WAN links. That will make you very unpopular with the network team and your boss.<br><br>Do what David said: use AD sites. What he means is let the network team divide traffic using AD sites (in AD sites and services). Then enable the check box in the CM console to create boundary groups using A sites. That way they are (a) correct (b) automatic.<br><br>If you want to do things manually, then at the very least create TWO boundary groups: Local and Remote. Only push data that MUST go install to the Remote DP - e.g. patches and essential apps.<br><br>Do NOT use Subnets. It is not what you think. It does not work like normal subnetting.&nbsp;

But there are companies that have only One Active Directory Site, even if they have Remote physical sites.<br />
In this case you will have to use IP subnet range as Boundaries.

However when you open Active Directory Sites and Services console , if you have several AD Sites you will see several subnets. <br />
Because the AD Engineer will have to create AD Sites and &nbsp;Subnets then associate each Site with proper Subnets.<br />

if there is only one AD site, then there is <b>NO NEED</b> for AD Engineer to create Subnets and associate with the first default site <br />
<br />
Now if the Link is slow between HQ and Remote physical sites then I believe the coordination between SCCM Engineer and the Network Team is a Must.<br />
SCCM Engineer should get the IP address Ranges used for Computers (Workstations and Servers) and create Boundaries based on IP address Ranges and add them to Boundary Groups, Install Distribution Point on each Boundary Group.<br />

If there is an Application in HQ that needs to be installed on Remote Physical Site, then SCCM admin can Distribute it to the proper DP then Deploy it to proper collections.
