How can we improve sound heard from person speaking 7 feet away from phone during live streams?

Hi,

I do live feed recordings of mass through Facebook Live using Samsung Note 9 phone.

The priest recorded during stream is usually around 7 feet away during recording.

We received complaints that the priest could not be heard very well from those watching the live stream.

We were thinking of using something like microphone plugged into phone running close to priest or if turning on loudspeaker on phone makes sound better through live stream.

How can we improve sound heard from priest during live streams?
