Enabling smb1 on Azure Windows serrver 2019 datacenter

2019 azure data center server acting as file server. Smb1 can not be added . Customer needs smb1 enabled for some scanners. I downloaded iso of data center and mounted it.

Went to server manager and attempted to add the feature smb1. I gave the source Win:H:\sources\install.wim:4 , but it fails. i also tried from powershell.

Dump the scanners and replace them, but do NOT enable SMB V1.  There are too many security exploits (EternalBlue being one of the best known) that are targeted directly at SMB V1.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EternalBlue

This is even worse since your server is not local, but is hosted on Azure.

If your corporation's IT security team knew that anyone was considering enabling SMB V1 they'd throw a conniption fit.  Don't put yourself in a position where next year your manager's saying "Tell me why we should keep you on after this little episode which we traced back to SMB V1 being enabled?" and your defense is "Well, it seemed like an easy solution."
