SQL 2016 installatoin guide best practice

hi,

I am doing a MS SQL server installation guide. I am not sure if there is an official guide from  MS or other source shows the following concept:

1) Usually I don’t recommend SQL DB software install on OS disk as the secure permission/ACL of DB software and OS software can be a big difference.
2)  Also when OS pagefile also in C:\ and SQL SW also in C:\ and therefore in this case, SEEMS tempdb also in this drive, this can have SQL server tempdb contention.
3) RDM disk is good  for MS SQL in VMWare environment.
4) is VMWare dependent of independent disk is good for MS SQL ?
5) RAW disk for MS SQL is good ?

Everything depends on the needs and the expected workload.

for normal user, like DC operator who do not know what is SQL. an instruction is better.

You can put system databases, tempdb and everything on the same disk.

how about OS also on the same disk, so I need any offical guide/URL to show this is also a good practice.
any ?

If you can measure your expected workload and size of your database(s) than you can start to plan the environment.
very less to medium workload.

please show any URL applicatable for the point I post.

You have to match the available IOPS to the application.

usually in DB world we concern more on disk latency more than IOPS, disk latency high very dangerous, right?

OS/SQL Software can be RAID5/6, and maybe even SQLDB but logs/tempdb should be raid 1/10

yeah.  any URL to agree with this ?

adjust the LUN RW percentages

Read write percentage ? we can adjust the write and read speed of a LUN ?

Read write percentage ? we can adjust the write and read speed of a LUN ?
You do this when you setup the raid array.  Not the raid array.. as a raid array can have multiple LUN's

Not the raid array.. as a raid array can have multiple LUN's

set it in the RAID array control level but not LUN level  ?

as a raid array can have multiple LUN's

share with other server ?
RAID Arrays and LUN's are machine specific you have several disk drives (mixed SSD/Spinning Disk)
Which in the RAID controller you can add to different arrays
Within each RAID Array you can have several LUN's
A LUN can have several objects which include virtual drives.
