Add physical Adapters to Standard Switch
Add physical Adapters to Standard Switch
I have ESX hosts with several physical adapters as shown below:
However when I try to add physical adapter from within vSphere console to a standard switch I get the message below:
and for now there is only one physical Adapter vmnic0 used by standard switch 0 for Mgmt traffic
Any Help on this issue ?
Thank you

Click on Physical adapters in the last screenshot, this will tell you how many physical adapters are on the host. From the error there may only be one adapter that is being enumerated by the host.
So if you only have 1 nic in the host and you remove that nic uplink from default switch
How many nics will you have left ???
ZERO CONNECTED NICS UPLINKS TO THE DEFAULT VSWITCH AND THEN NO MANAGEMENT OF THE HOST!!!

if you can see the Snapshot in the initial comment it shows 6 Network Adapters on the ESX host
I will give my ESX host soft reboot and see if Vcenter can discover the rest of the adapters

Do you want to add additional adapters on vswitch0? If so you should be able to click the plus sign and add vmnic1,2,3 on the current vswitch. It may be different in a nested environment but normally not an issue on physical hardware.
restart the host, is the configuration identical ?
are you using E1000 network interfaces in the VM (nested ESXi setup in VMware Workstation)
are you using E1000 network interfaces in the VM (nested ESXi setup in VMware Workstation)
1.Restart the host ESXi server.
2. Check that the network interfaces assigned are E1000.
3. Remove and re-add the network interfaces in the VM settings.
4. Last resort re-build the server.
It's only a lab.
