Need a function to parse dates

Experts, I need you help!

I have an form for user's to input a date range. There is no data picker unfortunately. Can you help with a function to sort out the answers?

Here's what I'd like

Function PPeriod( CELL.Address, Start or End date, Date format)

Usage =PPeriod(A1, START, "mm/dd/yyyy")

where is the Function PPeriod ?

what's the expected result? can you elaborate further?

Sorry, the request is for someone to write a function that will return Start Date and End Date (columns b & c) from the inputs in col A

For the function you will need the Split Command along with some hefty ifs to make the splitting.

The input data is inconsistent, and it is a waste of time to automate the required.

I agree with Gustave to manually modify the data to a state where automation will be applied.
