I am not sure why the option below is by default set to "No"

Is it recommended to be changed to Yes  for Update Manager to Update the Host ?

it says it there: " Disable  removable media devices that might prevent a host from entering maintenance mode"

with YES
if we install and update that requires reboot  of a Host then the Host needs to go into maintenance mode, so that the VMs in it migrate to another Host.   so Update will get installed, the Host will go into maintenance mode and then reboot, the VMs in it will migrate to another host

 if the option is NO, then after the Update is installed on the Host, if reboot required, it will not happened since the removable media is not disabled.
