Decluttering from iphone emails which appear on phone and laptop(.
I need to create space on my iphone. I have plenty space on m,y laptop. The emails are on both Iphone and Laptop.. If I delete an email on my iphone it disappears also from the laptop, and vice versa.
My question? Can I copy emails from the laptop to the laptop hard disk and keep them there, deleting them on the Iphone?
Remove the email account from your iPhone and set it as a POP3 account. By default, only the latest 30 days of emails will be on your iPhone and there will be no impact to your emails in computer even if you delete an email from your iPhone because it is a POP3 account.
If your mailbox is using Exchange Online, you shall not use POP3.
Otherwise, if your use case for a mobile device is to read recent emails and only briefly reply to a few emails, you should setup the mail app to use POP3.
No, you cannot do it on the iPhone as the Mail app there doesn't have access to the ARCHIVE, LOCAL folders on the PC. It has to be done on the laptop .. and those emails are then deleted and of course unsearchable on the iPhone.
