What is the best practice for windows Print and File server? & Windows server 2008 unable to connect internet.

Dear Experts,

I have 2 questions. I always got a concrete solution from you guys. I hope this time also.

1)  What is the best practice for windows Print and File server? In my organization (200 employees) Print and file are servers are on the same machine(VM) . but my colleague wants to separate
it. He said its not best practice. But I don't see any reason to separate it. Could you please throw some light on it?

2)  I have installed a new OS windows server 2008 for some reasons on VMware. Everything is correct but still unable to connect to the internet. Although other servers of higher version OS is
      running fine.

Many thanks arnold But I need to perform restoration(Commvault) from File system and I need the same environment as it was. I have no option except to have a functioning 2008 OS. Any lead towards this direction

Every capable backup program can do a file restore to a different system, and the specific version of Windows doesn't matter.

If you're restoring just files, restore to another Winsows system. If you're restoring the entire OS, then you do a bare metal restore or restore the VM.
