Are MS, RHEL, Oracle Linux & docker patches cumulative
For some vendors (ie in the case of Oracle), the latest patches would have
covered all past patches ie they're cumulative.
What about MS (windows 2012 & above), RedHat Linux (RHEL 6-8), Oracle Linux & docker patches?
covered all past patches ie they're cumulative.

Agree, security is a risk (ie chance it may or may not happen);
while if a patch has disrupted availability, it's not a chance anymore
but a reality that's happening.
Unless we're referring to a patch (eg: a Y2k) that's meant to fix
an issue that had already resulted in unavailability

Regarding patches.
It's usually easier to recover some minor software problem caused by a bad patch, than cleanse a machine after it's hacked.
For those who prefer Linux patches that pretty much work every time, stick with Ubuntu.
Other Distros... patch testing seems to vary wildly...

MS offers both cumulative plus non-cumulative patches?
One question: in the event an Oracle CPU (cumulative
patch) cause a disruption, is there any way to skip out the
offending sub-patch or update & still patch with others?
