Need a UPS to provide back-up juice for a laptop

Need a UPS to provide back-up juice for a laptop.

In the event the power goes out.

I have a 2015 MacBook 15" and worry a loss of electricity would block me from working.

Let's suppose:
1) the power goes out and the UPS is fully charged
2) My MacBook has NO CHARGE on it

How many hours worth of juice is contained in the example UPS?

I understand MacBook 2013 is an old machine and is likely bad on electric usage, but I just need that as a benchmark.

Thanks.

I agree. I am not worried about surges. I worry about a loss of power at home (also my office) and needing max juice to prolong when my work shuts down...

Jackie, how long a runtime would I get from the MAXOAK Type-C Power Bank?

Also, I have a work PC...and HP laptop. Can I assume that Mac specific device also works for a non-MacBook?

USB type C is only the interface. You need to check whether the notebook PCs use PD 2.0 for charging.

It depends on how long your MacBook can run on battery and the type c power bank can provide approx 1.5 times of the duration which your MacBook run on battery alone.

Anyway, I do not represent the seller of the power bank and you need to look for more alternative offerings from different sellers. I have no personal experience of using such a powerbank as I seldom use a computer at home or on the road.

I only used that one as an example, so we were talking about the same one...I did not view it as you were selling that...no worries...

I do not know much about calculating juice, but I see the following:

Main internal battery for the 13" MacBook Pro 2013 model is a grade-1 battery meaning it currently holds 90% or more of it's full charge capacity when new which in this case was 6,330mAh (milliamp-hour). This battery will therefore come with a full charge capacity of 5,698mAh or more.

2006-2018 36000mAh

and...

MAXOAK Type-C Power Bank for Laptop MacBook Pro/MacBook Air MacBook 2006-2018 36000mAh 5/9/12/15/20V PD USB-C

Does this mean 1 Power Bank charge is about 6-full charges for the MacBook?

Thanks.

Thanks.

in a word, yes. and those calculations tend to be correct in most cases. you would expect maybe 5 charges since vendors always cheat a little, and you need to account for produced heat.

... that said, 6000mAh does not seem like a lot to power a macbook. never used that power bank so i am unsure but the descriptions mentions about 2 charges for a macbook, which given the size and price of the object seems more realistic.

i'm unsure where the error is, but somthing does not fit. maybe the macbook battery is 16Ah rather than  6 ?

It is not just a simple calculation for estimating the runtime when you charge a device using a power bank while you are using the device.

Why?

Charging and discharging are happening intermittently and it causes more power wastage, especially when you are using a power-hungry MacBook.

My estimate of 1.5 times your current runtime of your MacBook using internal battery is derived from my experience using power banks with all kinds of mobile devices like iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets.
