Exporting SQL database
I have someone that is requesting all the data in our database which includes several tables and some of the columns containing large strings of text. There is a research analyst that wants to look at the data so what would be the best way to present the data to them? In Excel? If so, how would I do that? Thanks for your help.
If they're asking for all of the data in a particular db, you could create a backup and have them restore it. If it's not a lot of data or tables, you could do an export of the data to csv or excel.
Much depends on what ypur info is and what you want, you can backup the DB, zip it and send it.
If you have Phi, you have to mask the data not providing the PT info..
If you have specifc data that they need, you could extract it using a query and export the data into a CSV....
You as the one who has the data repository and the people to whom you want to provide it have to reach an agreement in what information and the format in which it needs to be provided.
