3 different models of keypads for Thinkpad x240 : which one to choose
https://shopee.sg/Original-Lenovo-Thinkpad-X-230-S-X-250-X-240-S-X-260-X-240-X-270-X-260-Keys-i.173319458.3835855245
Referring to above item: there are 3 models of the keypads.
Whats the difference between 'Generation', 'Orig English car' & 'orig Big Truck'?
about ten keys on my X240 is now not responding; if the keypads don't sit
properly on my X240's casing after replacement, I don't mind: can always
use some putty to close the gaps if any. Just wanted all keys to work.
I tend to go for the lowest-priced one so long as it works (but doesn't have
to sit exactly into my X240's casing)

I can see car and big truck in the selection boxes, but obviously not Lenovo terms. It also appears you should buy two of them and stand on them as the advert is under shoes ;)

It's going to cost many times more: I'll take my chances ie
if what's received is not what's shown, will raise dispute for
refund.
I'm Ok if it's a matter of just US, UK or different country
/language's keyboard but not if it comes as something
that's not even a keyboard that cant fit into X240:
so whether it's UK or US or other language's keypad,
it will fit into any X240 or won't it?
A staff from the merchant just replied (after I've posted for
a few days): he's uncertain the difference but reassured
that a refund can be arranged if product is defective or
as described.

I've dealt with above merchant: they arrange for doorstep
collection for returns.
One last question:
for this lazada item keypad, the 5th key from the
left at the bottom-most row is a torch-light symbol:
does this mean it's a backlit ie I could lit up the
entire keys when typing in the dark??

what i mean is that you are not sure the problem is the keyboard or not
did you remove it, clean the contacts and replaced it back to test yet?
***it' does not look very easy to replace it..

>what i mean is that you are not sure the problem is the keyboard
I'm sure it is as not just 1 button but ten buttons that are not working
(unlikely ten buttons located at different parts of the keypad fail at
same time) & the keypad is not dusty/dirty. USB keyboard works fine.
