Brew installation failure:

I am following the instructions from http://brew.sh. The installation of BREW is failing with:


When I try to install Brew:¬†error: invalid option -f    How do I move past this?

It appears the Homebrew installation script is passing -f to ruby.

Scanning docs, not even latest (Ruby-2.7.1) processes the -f flag.

Best option is to open a ticket with Homebrew asking them to fix their installation script.

Alternatively, you can download their installation script + edit it (remove -f) which might get it working.

David Johnson caught this better than I did.

You're trying to use Ruby to run a Bash install.sh which will fail miserably.

Use David Johnson's solution.

Remember...

Ruby != Bash

Agreed.  You weren't in Bash, so something likely was parsing incorrectly.

Yes, as a new Apple OS user, I was not in the Bash command prompt!
